Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12
I am serving in Seongsan Church wherein majority of the members are elderly, in their sixties and seventies. They’re very sweet and loving though. Every Sabbath, they arrive early in church, greeting each other with hugs and sweet smiles. In spite of the “aches and pains” due to old age, they diligently come to church and participate in singing and all the activities. The “aches and pains” don’t hinder them to worship and praise our almighty God. And as long as they can make small steps going to church, they would always be present. Knee pains and backaches would not stop them to continue walking faithfully for the Lord. This kind of spirit inspired me and I hope you too as we serve the Lord and even as we grow old with Him. Sometimes, we are easily discouraged by those little problems that we encounter. Little problems that sometimes hinder us from attending the church. But can we be like these elderly? Let’s follow their ideal example of how to walk faithfully for the Lord.
